AutoLOG is a brand of easy to use smart applications that allow you to easily see a vehicle's technical data. Created by Connects2 Ltd, the range of smart application products will give you the end user full vehicle history and diagnostic data straight to your smartphone or head unit. Gone are the days whereby you have to rely on a mechanic before finding out what’s wrong with your vehicle and how it's performing.
AutoLOG Dongle
The AutoLOG Bluetooth dongle is a clever little adapter that plugs into the vehicles OBD port and connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone. The app then pulls the vehicles data on to the AutoLOG smart phone app. There are no technical or mechanical skills needed. The vehicle’s OBD port is located in the vehicle usually within 3 feet of the driver and our detailed diagrams show you exactly were the OBD port is located.
All cars sold in Europe manufactured from 2001 for petrol and 2004 for Diesel have the OBD port fitted as standard. The OBD port is an automotive term referring to the common connector that allows diagnostic tools to connect to the vehicle's On Board Diagnostic system. The AutoLOG dongle plugs into the OBD port and via Bluetooth sends the vehicle's diagnostic information to the AutoLOG smartphone app.
On-board diagnostics (OBD) is an automotive term referring to a vehicle's self-diagnostic and reporting capability. OBD systems give the vehicle owner or repair technician access to the status of the various vehicle sub-systems. From 1994 onward all vehicle manufactures now install a standardised OBD port to all vehicles. Modern OBD implementations use a standardised digital communications port to provide real-time data in addition to a standardised series of diagnostic trouble codes, or DTCs, which allow one to rapidly identify and remedy malfunctions within the vehicle.
AutoLOG Dongle
The AutoLOG is a smart phone application and small Bluetooth dongle that allows you to see and store a vehicles history and diagnostic data to your smart phone. Simply download the free AutoLOG app to your smartphone, connect the clever AutoLOG dongle to the vehicle's OBD port and all the information you need about the vehicle will be presented on your smartphone.

No, if you change your phone you will not need to purchase a new dongle. However you will need to download the AutoLOG app to your new phone and carry out a further registration of the dongle using the same user and email details that you originally registered with, making sure that you tick the already registered box before submitting.

No, there is no charge to re-register your account. You can carry out history and health checks as long as you have available credits. To check if you have credits available log into your account on the AutoLOG web site (www.auto-log.com) Here you can top-up your credits.

No, the AutoLOG dongle simply connects to the vehicle's OBD port and reads diagnostic information from the car.

Technical Help and Advice

Before you can use AutoLOG you will need to setup an account and register your dongle. Simply enter a memorable user name, your email address and lastly your dongle reference number. (To find your dongle number click here). Once you have filled in your details press “Submit”. Your account has now been created and the screen will change allowing you to enter a vehicle registration number. You are setup and ready to go.
Your AutoLOG dongle will need to be plugged into a car’s OBD port. To find your car’s OBD port click here.
  • Plug the dongle into the cars OBD port.
  • When you start the diagnostic test the dongle will automatically connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth. If not please proceed as follows;
  • Once the dongle is connected, go to your phone settings and select the Bluetooth option.
  • Search for Bluetooth devices. When you see AutoLOG appear you have found your dongle.
  • Once selected you then need to pair your dongle with the phone.

You will only have to do this once as long as you do not remove the paired dongle from the paired list.

You can also find your OBD port while using the app. Once you are logged in, enter the vehicle's registration number and select start to check the car details are correct and then if OK press yes to accept. This will then give you the option to find the OBD port location.

The time to carry out the health check will vary from vehicle manufacturer and age of the car. The AutoLOG app will show a progress bar as the check proceeds. It will take several minutes to complete the health check.
The AutoLOG Vehicle history date is supplied by a leading UK vehicle data company. The data supplied is obtained from a variety of government and trusted commercial institutions. In the unlikely event of an issue with the history information then please contact us.
Firstly you must have either the PRO or PRO+ APP. Please visit www.auto-log.com and log in to your account if you need to upgrade your current GO or TICK APP.
If your MIL light is illuminated then when you run the AutoLOG PRO or PRO+ diagnostic test it will be show as switched ON as the test runs through the various system checks as well as indicating associated Diagnostic trouble codes. (DTC’S.) At the end of the test a text box will appear on your phone and ask if you want to turn off the MIL light and erase the DTC’s. Press the “yes” box to turn off the MIL and erase the DTC’s, pressing the NO box will leave the MIL light on and retain the stored DTC’s.
If your MIL light does not turn off this means that the fault or faults that caused the MIL to be turned ON are still present and therefore can’t be erased until the problem has been fixed.
yes you can! When you turn off the MIL and erase the DTC’s a record of the report is kept on your phone and in your personal “ my garage “ at www.auto-log.com where it can be viewed and printed off if required.

Simply go to the AutoLOG web site www.auto-log.com and sign into your online account. Additional credits can be purchased here. Once your credits are topped up you can continue to use your AutoLOG app and dongle.
